The Director of the Naval Technical Office from the Italian Navy visits Cantiere Navale Vittoria
The Director of the Technical Office of Genoa for the Italian Navy, Captain Gabriele Catapano, visited the Vittoria Shipyard together with a delegation from the same Office and the employee Technical Detachment of Venice. The meeting was attended by three of the six members of the historic shipyard: the Vice President Massimo Duò, Luigi Duò and Vittoria Duò, as well as some of the leading figures of the organization such as PM Salvatore Perniciaro, the organizational manager Carlo Brero and the Commercial Director Luigi Chinappi.
The meeting was aimed at sealing the long working relationship between Cantiere Navale Vittoria and the Navy, in particular with the Technical Administrative part represented by the Technical Offices of Navarm which, as per their institutional role, have among others the task of support the industrial realities that work for the Armed Forces.
In particular, the Shipyard is currently in charge of supplying the Navy with four boats suitable for moving the men and vehicles of the San Marco battalion of the Nave Trieste, the multi-purpose amphibious unit currently being completed at the Fincantieri facilities in Castellammare di Stabia.
The four boats, launched in recent years and close to testing, are called LL.CC.MM. (Landing Craft Mechanized), will provide the future ship of the Navy, thanks to outstanding qualities of operational flexibility, a top-level instrument capable of dealing with the major navies of the world.
