DRG840
The dredger “Maria Vittoria Z” is designed for excavation and dredging of river and seabeds. This ship is equipped with a crane Liebherr HS 8300, the largest trellis ever designed and installed on board a ship. This powerful lifting machine has a payload of 300 tons, an arm of 41 meters in length, a bucket of 10 cubic meters in capacity and a 30 cubic meters hydraulic clamshell bucket. The crane is used to collect sand, clay, silt, gravel and small rocks from the sea floor, lifting them and placing the material inside the cargo area. The latter is equipped on the bottom with opening doors to unload the material where necessary, for example, building new lands, expanding and strengthening existing ones or replacing the sand eroded by the action of storms or waves on the seashore to restore the original shape. The ship is moreover predisposed for the installation of various technologies of dredging, like the system with aspiration pipes.
