Cantiere Navale Vittoria reduces the use of plastic
With the beginning of the month, Cantiere Navale Vittoria begins its own process to eliminate disposable plastic from administrative offices and from production sites of Adria. Called Water Project, the operation involves more than 200 collaborators, between employees and partners, and it will reduce the annual consumption of about 335 kg of plastic, equal to -94% of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Cantiere Navale Vittoria bans plastic bottles and furnishes all employees and collaborators with water bottles, branded 24Bottles, in stainless steel material 18/8 food grade. The water can be filled by convenient dispenser branded Aquà and installed by Buonristoro located in different points of the polesano establishment. The gradual replacement of single-use plastic objects will also take place concurrently.
The intervention follows the relevant EU directives, in particular with Legislative Decree n.196 of 8 November 2021 for the implementation in Italy of Directive (EU) 2019/904, that is the SUP Directive on disposable plastics, and allows to protect and safeguard the environment and in particular the sea, a resource to which most of the production activities are connected with the polesana company, where still today is found most of the plastic waste.
“This is a small but significant gesture for the environment- says Filippo Duò, Head of Communication, Marketing & Events of Cantiere Navale Vittoria that developed the initiative together with Alessandra Schettino, HSE responsable – increasingly subject to changes induced by the hand of man, as shown by the latest events that are involving not only the Italian peninsula. We hope to see soon the practical consequences of this initiative that, together with other more relevant interventions, aims to reduce more and more the environmental impact of our production activities”.
